VeeFriends Comic Book #14: Doggy Daycare is a spy-action comedy about a team of secret-agent dogs operating out of a high-end daycare hidden in plain sight. When a routine heist to recover a legendary artifact goes sideways, the dogs begin to realize the mission was never really about what they stole, but who was being watched.
Blending humor, heart, and high-stakes adventure, the story explores intuition versus control, and what happens when loyalty and obedience are no longer enough.
Written and illustrated by VeeFriends artist Ali Castro (her first-ever published comic book!), VeeFriends Comic Book #14 gives the VeeFriends dogs their moment to shine in a story that feels playful on the surface and deeper underneath. Doggy Day Care launches Friday, March 27th at 12pm ET on the VeeFriends online shop with a live Whatnot drop hosted by GaryVee that same day at 8pm.

Doggy Daycare was one of the first "ensemble" titles that GaryVee pulled from his notes as the VeeFriends Comics team kicked off their first comics team offsite in March of 2025. The offsites are designated brainstorming sessions where the Comics team iterates and develops the storytelling for VeeFriends comic books. The big idea that came from Gary, as you'll see in this issue, was that these pampered and posh pets by day become crime fighting heroes at night.
The VeeFriends dogs have already become some of the most recognizable and collectible characters across the brand. Comic Book #14 turns that popularity into a full ensemble mission with its fun tone and mythology.
The even bigger idea from Gary was that groups of VeeFriends characters from our 250+ character library could live in their own titles & teams within the VeeFriends universe. VeeFriends Comic Book #13: Farm Fights was one of the first VeeFriends team titles.

VeeFriends Comic Book #14 introduces eight characters in their first comic book appearances:
Bad-Ass Bulldog
Dialed In Dog
Dapper Dachshund
Insightful Irish Terrier
Magnanimous Maltese
Polished Poodle
Poised Pug
Turnt Tick

On the surface, Doggy Daycare is a slick and playful undercover mission. The dogs move from daycare chatter to gala infiltration, hidden agendas, and a legendary artifact that seems to sit at the center of it all. It has the rhythm of a heist, the charm of a comedy, and the chemistry of a team book. But underneath that, the story is really about the tension between intuition and control.
At its core, Doggy Daycare explores what happens when instinct clashes with systems, orders, and surveillance. The story suggests that true insight does not come from executing perfectly. It comes from listening inward, even when that means questioning the structure around you.
The dogs are disciplined, capable, and loyal. They complete the mission. But the story reveals that blind loyalty and flawless performance can be exploited. Their obedience is part of what allows manipulation to happen in the first place.
The most dangerous force in Doggy Daycare is not loud or obvious. It does not smash through walls. It watches quietly, gathers information, and waits. The story makes a sharp point: control works best when no one realizes it is there.
That is what gives the comic its staying power. Doggy Daycare is not just about a mission gone sideways. It is about what happens when a team begins to realize the game was bigger than they were told.

Cover A is illustrated by Ali Castro, who also wrote and illustrated the full story for Doggy Daycare (her first published comic book!). Ali's authorship of this book gives the issue a unified creative vision from front cover to final page. The L.A. based artist is known for her online webcomics and animatics, as well as her hyper-feminine aesthetics that blend with darker, moodier undertones - a style that comes through artistically in Doggy Daycare.

Cover B is illustrated by Agnes Garbowska, who brings her signature charm and polish to VeeFriends Comic Book #14. Garbowska is a prolific comic artist, known for illustrating The New York Times bestselling, Ringo Award, and Gem Award-winning DC Super Hero Girls, along with Teen Titans Go! for DC Comics. Her recent work also includes My Little Pony: I Can Read! Comics for HarperCollins and DC Super Hero Fairy Tales for Capstone. Beyond licensed comics, Agnes also co-created Kenzie's Kingdom with Shea Fontana for WonderBound, and runs her own community-driven digital comic project, DigiDorables.

Doggy Daycare comes sealed in a Comic Collector Pack, turning each blind bag into a surprising pull. The 1/1 Lollipop edition makes its return as the ultimate chase.
Ali Castro's four sketch covers are especially meaningful because she not only created the artwork for this issue, but also wrote the story itself. That makes these sketch variants especially personal to Comic Book #14 and some of the most significant chase editions in the release.
