About this issue
At the center of the story is Mikey, a kid drifting off course. His mother and homeroom teacher throw him into an unexpected journey with a group of VeeFriends determined to help him find his way. There’s just one hitch: none of them know how to drive. Chaos ensues, and a head injury sends Mikey into a vivid dream. He’s visited by his late father, who warns him that his imagination is growing dark and that even darker forces are coming. When Mikey wakes, the group has crash-landed on the mysterious Burn Island, where the VeeFriends reveal their true mission: to save the world from itself and Mikey might be the key to it all.
