Eruption 2 is LIVE!

Burn Island Eruption 2 allows eligible VeeCon 2022 ticket holders to enter the auction for a chance to win the prize of one of three unminted Chromie Squiggle NFTs from the notable generative artist–Snowfro.

To be eligible for participation in Burn Island Eruption 2, you must hold a VeeCon 2022 ticket token and be prepared to burn some BOOK GAMES tokens. This eruption is an auction lasting 8 days, from Thursday, March 16 at 5 PM EST to Friday, March 24 at 5 PM ET. The top three auction bids will each win one iconic Chromie Squiggle by Snowfro.

How does a Burn Island Auction Work?

In a Burn Island auction, your bid's size equals the number of tokens you burn. If someone outbids you, you can increase the size of your bid by burning additional tokens. You can purchase additional tokens from secondary marketplaces to increase your bid size. After the auction, only prize-winning bids will have their tokens officially burnt, while non-winning bids will have their tokens returned to their wallet.

When you participate in the Burn Island auction by placing a bid, you transfer your tokens to the VeeFriends temporary holding wallet Burnislandexchangel2.eth. These wallets are utilized to keep track of the tokens involved in active bids, and those who do not win will receive their tokens back in 24 hours once the event has ended.

To participate in Burn Island Eruption 2 Auction, users must hold a VeeCon 2022 ticket token on their VeeFriends account. In addition, when burning tokens for an auction, users must "confirm" in IMX & "sign" in Metamask or another non-custodial wallet to confirm the action. Please do not navigate away from the Burn Island page while the burn transaction is confirmed. Users will receive an onscreen notification when the token burn has been confirmed. After the burn is confirmed, users will be returned to the Burn Island main page, and it will take a moment (5–10 secs) for the order receipt and link to the leaderboard to pop up.

A: The winner will be viewable on the leaderboard after the auction.

How will the winners be notified?

A: The winners will receive an email notification after the auction ends.

Will all entries be publicly shown?

A: All entries will be displayed on the leaderboard!

Can I place an initial bid and buy more BOOK GAMES tokens to strengthen my bid?

A: Yes, you may buy more BOOK GAMES tokens after your initial bid and burn them to increase your bid size as long as it is submitted from the same VeeFriends account.

If I don't win the auction, will my BOOK GAMES still be burned?

A: If you are not among the 3 winners, your BOOK GAMES tokens will be returned to your wallet.

How does the tie-breaker work if multiple bidders have the same amount of bids?

A: The tie-breaker winner will be determined by the earliest bidder out of the tied bids.

Will there be a token refund for the difference in bids between the #1, #2, and #3 bidder?

A: No, there are no token refunds for the winners. Bid amounts entered by the winners will be final. Tokens will not be returned to even out winning bid sizes.

Will there be a mail-in component for this Eruption?

A: No, Burn Island Eruption 2 is an auction. As such, mail-ins are not eligible entries.

Who is eligible for this burn?

Do I need to hold my VeeCon 2022 tickets for the duration of the whole auction, or only when I place a bid?

A: You need to hold a VeeCon 2022 ticket when you place the bid. If you sell the token(s) after bidding, your bid is still eligible. However, to win the auction, you must hold a VeeCon 2022 ticket in your wallet upon auction closing.

Can my BOOK GAMES tokens and VeeCon 2022 tickets be in different wallets, as long as they are both on my account?

A: Yes, you can enter the auction by linking both wallets to your VeeFriends account.

How will I know my bid is confirmed?

A: You will receive a confirmation email once you place a bid.

Will the auction winners receive the Chromie Squiggles based on rarity?

A: The 3 Chromie Squiggles are being minted for the first time, so the art is currently unknown. There are countless outputs from the contract algorithm, and the artwork will be generated when the Squiggles are minted to each respective winner.

Why aren't more rare tokens eligible for more points in the auction?

A: As VeeFriends expands upon ways that BOOK GAMES can be played forever, the Eruption 2 auction mechanism adds a new layer to interact with your tokens through Burn Island. This auction will require participants to strategize which tokens they want to keep or submit to burn. Please note, in this eruption, there are no rarity requirements. Each eruption will have different requirements.

Why require VeeCon 2022 tickets for this eruption?

A: VeeCon 2022 tickets were chosen for this eruption due to the connection between Snowfro being the artist behind both Chromie Squiggles and VeeCon 2022 tickets.

Can a single person win all (3) prizes by creating multiple VeeFriends Accounts to win? A: No, only (1) bid/(1) prize per (1) individual is allowed for Burn Island - Eruption #2. Otherwise, VeeFriends reserves the right to terminate all other additional bids.Please refer to the rules and ToS: When bidding in the Auction, Participant agrees that: (a) Participant is making an irrevocable binding offer to purchase the respective Prizes and so may not cancel, retract, or reverse a bid once placed, and if it is a winning bidder, its bid is a legally binding contract to exchange the Auction Tokens for the respective prize(s); and (b) Participant will not take any actions that directly or indirectly manipulate the bid or the bidding process.
