Since its introduction a year ago, the VeeFriends Trading Card Game (TCG) has steadily grown its community of die-hard players and collectors worldwide. In an exciting development, VeeFriends is proud to announce the launch of community-hosted sanctioned tournaments.

These tournaments will provide players with a structured and competitive environment to showcase their skills and compete for the coveted spot as the 2024 VeeFriends TCG Champion. This initiative lays the foundation for future sanctioned tournaments and allows our growing trading card community to play a pivotal role in contributing to its competitive landscape.

The first-ever sanctioned tournament will debut at the National Sports Card Convention on Friday, July 26th, hosted by Josh Courage. With the next sanctioned tournament scheduled to be held during VeeCon 2024, the hosting application is now open to everyone. These events will set the stage for the grand VeeFriends TCG Championship tournament in NYC in mid-October.

VeeFriends Trading Card Game Sanctioned Tournaments

Two major events are on the horizon leading up to the VeeFriends Trading Card Game championship event in mid-October. Participants will have the opportunity to establish their official rankings and leaderboard results, which will determine eligibility for our official prize tournaments.

These sanctioned tournaments are officially approved and recognized by VeeFriends, ensuring they meet specific criteria and standards of the VeeFriends Trading Card competitive game rules set by our Events and Collectibles team.

This initiative aims to foster community pride and engagement, with participants playing an active role in organizing and attending the events. It also strengthens the reputation and reach of both the VeeFriends brand and the VeeFriends Trading Card Game.

What is a Sanctioned Tournament?

A "sanctioned tournament" for trading card games is an official tournament recognized and approved by the governing body of the specific trading card game. Key characteristics of a sanctioned tournament include:

• Official Recognition: The event is officially recognized by the governing body.

• Standardized Rules: The event follows standardized rules and guidelines, ensuring consistency and fairness in gameplay.

• Ranked Play: Participation affects a player's official ranking within the game's competitive structure.

• Certified Judges: Certified judges oversee the event to ensure rules are followed and disputes are resolved fairly.

• Qualification Opportunities: These events may serve as qualifiers for larger tournaments or championships.

For a tournament to be sanctioned by VeeFriends, it must adhere to the VeeFriends TCG playbook and rules. Our ranking and eligibility system rewards participation and wins in sanctioned tournaments. More details to come on the player ranking system and the upcoming Championship in October.

Hosting a Sanctioned Tournament for VeeFriends TCG

Hosting a sanctioned VeeFriends Trading Card Game tournament means taking on the responsibility for all associated costs, expenses, and liabilities, including production costs, sales and marketing expenses, and taxes. Tournament Organizers (TOs) must adhere to all relevant operational guidelines, tournament policies, and card legality rules. These events are held at VeeFriends, LLC pre-approved venues chosen by approved TOs.

First-Ever Sanctioned Event at the National Sports Card Convention

We are excited to announce the first-ever sanctioned tournament during the National Sports Collectors Convention on the evening of Friday July 26th. This landmark event, hosted by Josh Courage, will be the first of many future-sanctioned tournaments, showcasing the competitive spirit of the VeeFriends community. Upcoming Event: VeeCon 2024 in LA

The second ever sanctioned tournament is scheduled to take place during VeeCon 2024 in Los Angeles and will be held between Friday, August 9th and Sunday, August 11th. Applications to host this event are open now and must be submitted by Wednesday, July 10th.
