The VeeFriends community has experienced a thrilling start to the competitive VeeFriends Trading Card Game (TCG) scene with two community-hosted sanctioned tournaments. The first tournament, hosted by Josh Courage, took place at the National Sports Collectors Convention (NSCC) in Cleveland, Ohio, marking a historic moment as the first-ever VeeFriends TCG sanctioned tournament. Following this, the second tournament was held right before the start of VeeCon 2024 in Los Angeles, California, hosted by Ron Jordan. Below, you'll find the results from both tournaments and a look at what's next for VeeFriends TCG sanctioned tournaments.

To the Victors Go the 1/1 Art Cards

Both winners of the two sanctioned tournaments took home a 1/1 Tournament Art Card drawn by VeeFriends comic artist D.J. Coffman. The winner of the Cleveland tournament, Ron Jordan, received the Art Card of the top character in all of VeeFriends TCG, Perfect Persian Cat. The Los Angeles tournament winner, ThoughtWrong, received the Art Card of the VeeFriends mascot and dominant card in VeeFriends TCG, the Lucky Black Cat. Both Art Cards were authenticated and graded as GEM MINT 10 by CGC. These exclusive cards are not only rare collectibles but also a testament to the skill and passion of our VeeFriends TCG champions!

VeeFriends TCG Championship in NYC This October

The next major VeeFriends TCG event is the Official 2024 VeeFriends TCG Championship, scheduled for the evening of Friday, October 18th, in New York City. To celebrate the dedication and courage of sanctioned tournament participants, all individuals who participated in either of the two official sanctioned tournaments will be invited to participate in this Championship event. The official invite and initial event details will be shared via email with returning participants this week!

In addition, for this year's championship, we will also open the Championship Tournament to those who have not participated in the previous VeeFriends TCG Sanctioned Tournaments. While applying isn't a guarantee to be selected, we encourage all who wish to participate to apply HERE no later than September 16th at 12:00 PM EST.

The Top 4 ranked participants of each of the 2 VeeFriends TCG Sanctioned Tournaments will be recognized live at the event should they choose to participate in the VeeFriends TCG Championship in NYC this October.

Interested in hosting a future tournament? Currently, no further sanctioned tournaments are scheduled for 2024. However, we love the community enthusiasm behind the VeeFriends Trading Card Game and encourage members to continue hosting in-person and virtual friendlies, tournaments, and gatherings on their own.
