VeeCon Game Night & UNO® Tournament

The VeeCon Game Night & UNO® Tournament presented by Mattel Creations will take place on Friday, August 9, from 8 PM to 11 PM PT at The Novo. Forty-eight fierce competitors have been invited by email to battle it out for a chance to take the top spot and trophy. This event promises a night filled with fun and competition. VeeCon 2024 attendees are invited to join the game night and witness the excitement of the tournament.

In addition to the tournament, attendees can enjoy refreshing drinks, exclusive merchandise available only during this event, and VeeFriends Series 2 boxes. There will also be a variety of games and activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the evening.

Please note that this event is first-come, first-serve until the venue reaches capacity for audiences to watch this tournament. Don't miss out on this unforgettable night!

Tournament Details

The UNO® tournament will feature 48 competitors battling it out in an epic three-round competition. The champion of the tournament will be awarded a trophy provided by Mattel Creations, celebrating their ultimate UNO® mastery.

Round One

In the first round, all 48 players will compete across eight tables in groups of six players. The advancement criteria are straightforward: the first player to go out and the player with the lowest hand score at the end of the round will advance to the next round. The rest of the players will be eliminated. This round ends either when someone goes out or after a set time limit. If no one goes out by the end of the time limit, the two players with the lowest hand scores will advance.

Participants: 48 players

Format: 8 tables of 6 players each

Advancement: The first player to go out and the player with the lowest hand score advance to the next round. The round ends when someone goes out or after a set time limit. If no one goes out, the two players with the lowest hand scores advance. The rest are eliminated.

Round Two

The second round will feature the 16 remaining players competing across four tables, each with four players. The same rules apply: the top two players from each table will move on to the Final Round, while the rest will be eliminated.

Participants: 16 players

Format: 4 tables of 4 players each

Advancement: The top two players from each table move on to the Final Round. The rest are eliminated.

Final Round

The Final Round consists of the top eight players. This round has no time limit, and the first player to go out wins it all.

Participants: Top 8 players

Format: No time limit.

Winning Criteria: The first player to go out wins it all.

Game Night

Game Night is the latest addition to VeeCon 2024. This year, VeeFriends along with Mattel Creations is curating an experience for all VeeCon attendees that includes a full bar where you can grab your favorite drinks, exclusive VeeFriends and VeeCon merchandise, and a dedicated VeeFriends Trading Card Game playing area. Battle against your fellow VeeFriends Trading Card Game enthusiasts, watch epic showdown matches, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow fans. Game Night is slated to be one of the most exciting and fun-filled moments of VeeCon 2024.

Make sure to visit the two-story Mattel Creations space to engage with thought leaders and discover 'What's Next' in art, toys, and entertainment. You can find it during all three days of VeeCon at FriendsFest by VeeFriends. The upstairs podcast lounge is dedicated to the conversations led by Mattel Creations, each lasting 15–20 minutes.
